SIZE 9:  It is slightly shorter and thinner than the size 7 and 8 needles.  It is 1⅞" in length.  Its sharp point and length allow your needle to go through multiple layers of wool. It has an elongated eye for ease of threading. It is suited for medium-sized hands—a standard for any wool appliqué enthusiast. You get 16 needles in your case.
